"We're So Thankful"! is challenge #95 at Cricut Cardz Challenge. Make a Thanksgiving card using a card cut from any Cricut Cartridge.
Here's my entry:
The card cut is from Picturesque. The cartridge shows it as a tri-fold card, but I changed it to a bi-fold. It is cut at 4.25" high (making it 11.18" wide). This is my favorite cartridge for card cuts because they are all unique.
The greeting is cut from Lyrical Letters at 1.65" high making it 4" wide. I cut the pinecone twice splitting the second cut into the cone and the needles. I inked the needles green and the cone brown on that cut. Then layered both pieces onto the first cut before adding it to the phrase cut.
I wanted my little surprise to really stand out so I backed the windows with green glitter paper and recut only one window (by hand).
Here is the inside:
I just love this little pilgrim mouse. He is so sweet. The beautiful saying "Sending you miles of smiles" is from CardzTV Stamps. It is part of the Encouraging Thoughts set Mary created. I must say these are some of the best quality stamps I've ever used. They are really deep cut so they ink beautifully.
Supplies
Stamps: CardzTV Stamps "Encouragimg Thoughts"
Ink: Momento Rich Cocoa, Olive Green
Paper: Recollections white and craft, DCWV green glitter, Dana's Closet green (inside lining on top)
Bling: Recollections flower and gem
Cuts: Cricut Picturesque and Lyrical Letters
Image: MS Office

Thanksgiving Goodie Bag
I made this "treat" bag for a friend who is very special to my heart. She has given me much encouragement and kindness so I wanted to repay some of her kindness with a small bag of goodies. The "Happy Thanksgiving" stamp was offered by Cindy at her Scraptastic Monday Challenge this week. I used it to label this bag made of craft card and DCWV Stack 7 papers. I made the flowers (see this post) before. This time I added brown ink to bring them into the fall coloring and added two leaves cut from Cuttlebug fall leaves dies. The bag measures 4" wide by 5" tall by 1" deep. I threaded twine through two side eyelets for the handles. Thanks for Janis' encouragement to enter this at

Thanksgiving Card- Cuttlebug Cuts
I used some interesting supplies for this Thanksgiving card:
Most of the leaves were cut using paint sample cards. I used the Cuttlebug 2-Inch-by-2-Inch Dies (Set of 4), Fall Leaves to cut the leaves. The veins were made by hand with a stylus.
I used the Tsukineko's Sheer Shimmer Frost on the card front. These pictures were taken outside this morning and the frost really shines!
I removed the center from a 4" white doily and then stained it with Memento inks (dandelion, canteloupe and tangelo) and edged everything with TH Distress Ink (antique photo). The card stock was from DCWV assorted packs, the gems are Recollections, and last but not least the stamp is Stampendous. Here's the inside of the card.
I'm entering this at the CCR challenge "The Challenge: Create A new project with the theme Thank you, Thanksgiving or a Turkey!"

Some turkey suprises
I wanted to share a couple of turkeys we had at Thanksgiving. The first turkey was made by my grandson, Paul, at his Webelos meeting.
The other turkey my DIL purchased from a lady where she works. It was just beautiful and yummy! Here are a few pics.
The turkey's body was a ball of the most delicious chocolate "hollow" thank goodness or we would have all been sick. The feathers, wings, head and breast were sugar cookies with either colored icing and sugar crystals or chocolate icing. Even the feet were cookies. My grand children loved the cookies on sticks. It was a fun decoration and nice dessert treat.
The nutcrackers on either side of the turkey are my granddaughter Beth's. She collections them and this year her mom found some that were for Thanksgiving.
Thanks for stopping by.

Focus on Orange
Paper Playtime is focusing on the color orange this week. I tried to incorporate as many shades of orange as I could in my card "Mr. Pumpkin". Maybe he will meet up with Mr. Turkey and enjoy trick-or-treating LOL.
Thanks for stopping by. Leave a comment if you have time.
Thanks

Blanket Stitch
The challenge at Cricut Cardz Challenge this week is "For challenge # 45, make a card for Thanksgiving using any cartridges you'd like and any colors you'd like." I tried to make something different. It is inspired by a tree skirt.
I have never done a blanket stitch before, but it wasn't bad once you figure out the mechanics. I would do it different next time - maybe a square card.
I used jute to do the blanket stitching all around the circle. The circles were cut from George at 5 inches. I nudged two together to form the card base. I cut two separate ones for the card topper. (I needed the extra one to hide the taped thread behind the images.) I looped a small piece of jute under the leaves on the inside of the card.
The Cricut cuts are:
Turkey - Stretch Your Imagination - cut at 1.67" 3 one red, 1 brown, 1 yellow - I trimmed piece parts and glued together for the complete turkey
Pumpkins - Holiday Cakes - 1 at 1" I trimmed the vines from the image
Branches (under flowers on top)- Calligraphy- 3.55" Cut 2 (be sure to flip 1)
Phrase - Lyrical Letters - 1.67" - Cut the pine cone twice green and Kraft card used parts of each.
Lace Doily - Mother's Day 2010 - Cut at 4.68" fits on inside of card.
Somehow, I've lost the ability to make my pictures zoom when clicking them. These are as large as my blog will allow. The flowers are Prima, the buds and copper leaves come from a flower pick I got at the dollar store, the button and gems are from my stash. The card stock is Bazzill.

Well Dressed Turkey
Fall is a great time of year. It doesn't feel out of place to make cards for a variety of reasons. The Create-A-Critter Turkey is so stinking cute I made him - dressed for dinner so to speak. I cut him and his parts at 3.5" Then I cut an extra couple of tail feathers one at 3.13" and one at 2.81" and layered them with foam tape. I used the Cuttlebug to add dots to his breast and bubbles to his wattle. I had green googly eyes to brighten his face.
Just a fun card. Thanks for stopping by.
