Halloween Mini Page 1
Halloween is a big holiday in our family. I always have lots of pictures of everyone's costume and trick or treat night as well as any party we might host. I decided to do a mini album of different page styles for this Halloween. Here's the first one.
The card stock punch out mummy "jiggles". I don't have any of those springs and I remember someone on the web made one with punched paper and beading wire. So I made my own from two paper circles and beading wire I wrapped around a pencil. I used Scor Tape to attach it to the mat. It worked out just fine.
Page 1:
Library envelope page:
Front side. I used the Cricut and cut a 5 1/2" library pocket out of black card stock. I used two designer pages, ribbon, and embellishments from my stash to decorate it.
For the back of the page I cut a rectangle and folded it in half. I taped the bottom and open side to form a tall pocket. A binding strip of black card stock is scored in half and again at 1/4" on each side of that score. The scores are folded (mountain/valley) before attaching it to the sides of the tall pocket card. I glued the library card to the front of the tall pocket and add a mat to the back side. TThe card stock punch out mummy "jiggles". I haven't made the tag for the library pocket yet.

Halloween Card - Cricut Holiday Cakes Cartridge
Eek! There's a spider on my nose...
I really like this jack-o-lantern from the Holiday Cakes Cartridge. So I'm entering this in the Paper Cutz Challenge for this week.
I welded one "face" and one blank together to form a card. Then I cut out an extra blank for the inside of the cover. The "spooky" cut made a great hair piece. The web is a brad, the spider and inside decorations are
rub-ons, and Eek is letter stickers. I really like the eyelashed googly eyes. I used Memento Tangerine and Cantaloupe inks to do the shading.
Thanks for stopping by. I'd love to hear what you think.

Butterfly Kisses Layout
The papers used on this layout are from DCWV Summer Dreams Pack, and a transparency overlay from Dena's Closet (used for the butterflies.) I used the Cricut to cut the butterflies from the Pictureque cartridge and to cut the wording from the Holiday Cakes cartridge. Except for those cuts everything was cut with my paper trimmer from four sheets of paper in the Summer Dreams pack.
The base of the page is a sheet of green dotted paper with butterfly and floral images on two corners. The blue dotted paper divides the page in half. I cut a strip from a page of matching borders and layered it on the blue strip to tone down the blue. I used a red print sheet for the photo mats. Small strips from the border print page were used on the corners of the photo mats.
The butterflies are cut from a sheet of soft green printed transparency. (Because of the patterns on the papers the printed paisley image on the butterfly doesn't show in the photos.) It was easy to cut these on my Original Cricut with the blade depth at 6 and the pressure at 5. I used short strips of Scor Tape to adhere the three butterflies on the page, then slightly bent up the wings to make them three dimensional.
The solid red flowers on the green paper are hearts grouped in circles. I used two sets of three heart buttons to replicate parts of those flowers and create more dimension. I used white card stock for the lettering. It is bold enough to be noticed and blends with the white images on the green sheet.
I made this layout to display pictures of both my granddaughters who dressed as fairies for Halloween one year. They both looked like beautiful butterflies.
Thanks for stopping by. Let me know if you have any questions.

Focus on Orange
Paper Playtime is focusing on the color orange this week. I tried to incorporate as many shades of orange as I could in my card "Mr. Pumpkin". Maybe he will meet up with Mr. Turkey and enjoy trick-or-treating LOL.
Thanks for stopping by. Leave a comment if you have time.
Thanks

Halloween Treat Bag
I had so much fun making the Christmas Treat Bag, I decided to make one for Halloween. Scrappy Frogs Challenge was to create a Halloween treat bag so this is my entry. I am making these for my grandchildren and my cousin's grandchildren. I don't give candy, instead I give pencils, erasers and popcorn.
This is an easy project with a great potential. Hope you like it.

A Little Grim?
I guess the Mini Monsters Cartridge is an addiction. There are just so many of them. I made this for my son's hobby area. He collects macabre things, but I like to add a few funnies now and then - less depressing for me since our areas are next to each other in the basement. I wish I had an expression so I could make large "minis". I used fired brick stickles on the scythe.

Lil' Froggy
A dear, dear friend of mine likes frogs. I've been getting him all kinds frogs for Christmases and his birthdays for years. This frog image is the reason I bought Mini Monsters. I have a lot of plans for this frog - let me tell you.
I made this card for Paper Cutz Challenge #60 which is to make a card, LO or project with a critter. I added the tongue, it's a curled strip of red card that I glued under the mouth. He is chalked and doted to add some dimension. The purple card is Bazzill and the greens are Recollections. The DP is from my stash. I thought the spider fit in perfectly with the frog. The dragonflies are from The Eyelet Outlet .
Hope you like it. Please leave a comment if you have the time. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks

Candy Corny
I am just in love with the Mini Monsters Cartridge! I couldn't make up my mind on what theme to try out on the City Crafter Challenge this week. Then I saw Candy Corny on the Mini Monsters cart and things just went from there. The papers are from last years DCWV Autumn stack and Bazzill card stock. The gems are Recollection and the brads and button are from Spare Parts.
Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions or just want to leave a comment, I'd love to hear from you.

Merlin's Treat Box
A Halloween treat container was project for the 1st the Let's Face It Friday Peachy Keen Challenge this week. I made a treat cylinder using a TP roll and decorated it with die cuts from Cricut Paper Doll Dress up and Holiday Cakes cartridges. I used the wizard cuts including the wizard, all layers of clothing and accessories from PDDU. I cut the pumpkins, moon, and bat from the border features in Holiday Cakes. I also used a flower cut from George and Basic Shapes to close the bottom of the cylinder. The designer paper (4" x 6"), card stock, gems, and star twine were from my stash I used stickles (Broken China and Antique Line) on the wands. I found the directions to make a TP candy cylinder at Sweet for My Sweets .
Since my grandchildren get so much candy Trick or Treating, I decided to fill the container with Halloween pencils I purchased at Michael's for a dollar. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. Sue

Cricut Cardz Callenge #42
Cricut Cardz Challenge #42 "For challenge #42, make a card for Halloween using the card feature from any cartridge, and using any colors you'd like." Well, that's easier than it sounds. Paper Cutz Challenge #59 was to make a Halloween Card not using Black or Orange.I finally chose Easter colors. Purple, Yellow, Pink and Green No cellophane grass though. LOL
So here's Spooky the Spider. He is looking for a treat!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. Sue

Faux Laser Cut Cards
I've always liked laser cut cards, but the images are limited and the prices are bit much. So I tried to create a similar cuts. They came out rather nice. I use various Cricut cartridges for the images using my Gypsy to remove the outer frames before cutting. I backed the front cover of the cards with Origami foil paper. It is so thin that it hardly adds any weight to the card, plus the light reflections are very intense. I have a few samples - two for Halloween and two for Christmas.
The first Halloween card is cut from the card template in Walk in My Garden. I backed it with Sapphire Blue foil. The second is my favorite, but it doesn't photograph well. Since the card and the bat are both black the gold foil shine spectacularly when it is in the right light
.
The two Christmas cards were my prototypes. The tree is a bit off center. I used plain white card stock for both cards. I ran the front only through the Cuttlebug to give some texture. The Holly card is my favorite. The tree is cut from Lyrical Letters.
