First snow and more snowflakes

Our first snow of this winter - here's the view of my backyard at 6:00 am.

Of course it was all melted by 3:00 pm.  I was happy, but the grand kids were disappointed.

To celebrate - here's round three of Cricut snowflakes

The group shot:

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you are have a great weekend.  If you haven't seen the other snowflakes, just click on the label snowflakes.  It will take you to all the posts.

I still have three I need to make since I gave the originals away.  They are really unusual and quite pretty.  I'll try to get them done and posted this week.

Christmas Card #2

Here is the second Christmas card for this year.  It is a side step card.  The embellishments are mainly from last year's Christmas close outs.  I like the color combination of red, light blue and light green.  I also like to mix silver and gold together.  Blending metals was hard for me at first, but now it seems natural on some mediums.  Silver dazzles and gems as well as epoxy stickers also add to the decor.

One of the features on the "steps" is a tag with the sentiment I added three dimensional stickers and a half pearl.  Here is a closeup of the steps.

I am submitting this to PaperPlaytime.  This week's challenge is to include a clock, ticket or tag in your work.

Thanks for stopping by.

Something New Is Coming

Something new is coming in 10 days.  Can you guess what it is?  Here are some hints
  • It involves something I like to do almost as much as paper crafting
  • It involves upcoming holidays

These visual hints will make it easier to guess.

Keep watching for more hints.

Snowflakes 2

This is just the best cartridge.  These make great decorations and gift embellishments.  Here's the second group of snowflakes.

Snowflakes

Since the weathermen are predicting snow showers tomorrow, I thought I'd post snowflakes. The nice warm kind.  These are snowflakes I made using the Cricut and the When Its Cold Outside cartridge.  I've made everyone on the package at least once, but gave many of them as presents previously.  They are so very detailed; I just love to make them.

Here's today's group:

Some closeups:

1st the snowman flake:

2nd the white Christmas tree flake:

3rd the reindeer flake:

4th the dreidel flake:

and 5th the pink and pearl flake:

I'll post the next six tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by.  If you have the time to leave a comment, I'd love to hear from you.  Sue

Christmas Mini Album #1

Once I get started on mini albums, it is hard for me to quit.  This is my first Christmas mini of the 2010 Holiday Season.  It is made using a card cut on A Child's Year (a different cut than the Dream Mini from yesterday.)

The front

The first set of pages

The Santa image is mounted on a paper doily that was first inked with silver and then highlighted with green.

The second set of pages

The ovals resemble picture frames.  I used pearls to highlight this one.

The snowflakes are wooden buttons.

Third set of pages

This mat is almost too pretty to cover.  The paper is embossed glitter and the gems around the edge bring a lot of bling to the page.

Fourth set of pages

I love to make the pages very 3 dimensional.  The cluster of flowers in the corner bring a much needed texture to this rather flat set of pages.
The Joy pocket is trimmed with strips of gold ribbon and red glitter domes.

This frame is decorated with silver balls.

Fifth set of pages

The opened cover.

Thanks for stopping by.  If you have a moment, please leave a comment.  I'd love to hear from you.

Dream Mini Album

I'm working on several mini albums for gifts.  I thought I'd share pictures of this newly finished "Dream Mini" .  I designed it to be very pastel, glittery, and with lots of flowers. I used the Cricut to cut this album.  The pages are from A Child's Year card cut.

The front

Close up of the beautiful pin my friend June sent to me.

First set of pages
June also sent me beautiful butterflies.  I used several in this album.  This purple one is made of two sequins and a brad.

Second set of pages

Third set of pages

The mats on this page are four scalloped circles punched and held together with a brad.  I fastened the brad to the paper before adhering it to the page base.  The circles are movable to provide more elements for photos or other items to be mounted.

Fourth set of pages

Here is another butterfly from June.  This is a purple print fabric stuffed butterfly.

The green butterfly on this page is also stuffed fabric, but is doubled and a gem is in the middle.  The blue gem in the upper corner is from a roll of Christmas gems I bought at Michaels.
