The Guessing Is Over

Thank you to everyone who left their guesses.

It is in fact a Holiday Cookbook.

I wanted to share a project I'm making for my granddaughters.  Over the years I've tried many holiday recipes.  A few of them have become part of our Holiday traditions.  In order to pass this tradition to my granddaughters, Brenna and Beth, I am making a 6" by 6" album filled with their favorites.  Each recipe will be made on two 6" by 6" sheets. So instead of jabbering, let's get to it! Here is the album cover:

I purchased this 6" by 6" green checked binder at Hobby Lobby.  I used self stick red and gold ribbon, an ornament from the dollar bin at Michaels, and wooden snowflake buttons to make the cover festive.  There is a clear plastic sleeve to go over the album cover to keep it clean.

And here is the first recipe. VIRGINIA'S FUDGE

I worked with Virginia at my first full-time job back in 1966.  She was a wonderful lady who made the best fudge.  One day I asked her if she would share her recipe, and she was sweet enough to jot it down on a piece of scratch paper.  I tried it out when I got home that night.  It's been the only fudge I make ever since.  It makes a big batch of fudge.

Each page is a 6" by 6"square of white card stock.  This is topped with a 5 3/4" by 5 3/4" of tan patterned paper that I ran through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder.  I used the Martha Stewart arched lattice edger punch to make the top 1 1/2" border from brown dotted card stock.  The embellishments include silk flowers, press on sticker snowflakes, stick on heart button and a silver charm that says "A Spoonful of Love"- it is covering part of the word chips - sorry.  The recipe and titles are printed on the computer on cream card stock.

Here are individual images of both pages for closeups:

I hope you follow me for the next 10 days to see the other recipes.  I really hope you try to make your own book to pass down your Holiday favorites or just have them all in one place.  Please feel free to print and use the recipes if you wish.  Let me know if there are any questions.

Tomorrow - a great cookie.

Thanks for stopping by.  Sue
