Halloween Mini Page 1

Halloween is a big holiday in our family.  I always have lots of pictures of everyone's costume and trick or treat night as well as any party we might host.  I decided to do a mini album of different page styles for this Halloween.  Here's the first one.

Page 1:

Library envelope page:

Front side.  I used the Cricut and cut a 5 1/2" library pocket out of black card stock.  I used two designer pages, ribbon, and embellishments from my stash to decorate it.  

For the back of the page I cut a rectangle and folded it in half.  I taped the bottom and open side to form a tall pocket. A binding strip of black card stock is scored  in half and again at 1/4" on each side of that score.  The scores are folded (mountain/valley) before  attaching it to the sides of the tall pocket card.   I glued the library card to the front of the tall pocket and add a mat to the back side.  T
The card stock punch out mummy "jiggles".  I don't have any of those springs and I remember someone on the web made one with punched paper and beading wire.  So I made my own from two paper circles and beading wire I wrapped around a pencil.  I used Scor Tape to attach it to the mat.  It worked out just fine.

I haven't made the tag for the library pocket yet.

Gel Pens and Gems Card

I used more paper from the Far East stack by DCWV for this tall card.

There is a faint image of a tree branch and a lantern on the page.  I used my gel pens (some were glittered, some weren't) and traced the images.  I filled some of the areas with the colors.  I then glued small gems and dazzles on the card.  There is room at the bottom for a sentiment and the inside is blank at this time.  

The hummingbird and flowers are a dazzle "outies" and the dragonfly is an "innie".  Paper Wishes has lots of examples of getting the most of out of a sheet of dazzle stickers.

This picture shows the size of the card - 9" by 3.75".

Masculine Cards

These were the Father's day cards that went with the "Thoughts" mini album.  My son had a hard time when his children went from calling him "Daddy" to "Dad".  So he settled for "Dadd-e-o".  This first card was from our beagle, Lady.  She's his third daughter so to speak.

The small front card opens to hold a gift card - or in this case tickets to the minor league baseball game.

I made him a shirt card.  He wears polo shirts every day to work, so I adjusted the buttons to reflect that style.  I learned how to make the shirt a few years ago on a Weekly Webisode of Paper Wishes.  Mary at CardzTV has a nice tutorial here.

Thinking of You Card - Woven Ribbon Wreath

I love to try out new craft projects.  When I saw the tutorial on woven ribbon wreaths I knew I had to try it out.  I made a necklace for my granddaughter, then I started playing around with plastic canvas glitter cord.  This is what I came up with.

The papers are from the DCWV  8" by 8" Far East stack.  The dazzles are from Paper Wishes, I added some blue gems to the centers of the flowers.  The rose is a Prima, and the stamp was from the dollar bin at Michaels.  The tag is punched with an EK Success punch.

I love the soft colors of these papers.

All Occasion Sunflower Card

You know the phrase "Let your fingers do the walking."  Well, this is my version of  "Let the paper do the talking".  The front of this card is made from a sheet of paper in K&Company  Designer Mat Pad (Susan Winget's watercolors).
I trimmed the 4.75" x 6.75" paper to fit the 4" by 5.25" mat on my card.  Embellishments are a small silk sunflower with a splash of shear purple ribbon, and two butterflies that I cut from a second sheet of the same paper then covered them with glossy accents. I placed the butterflies on top of the same image on the paper using foam tape ti pop them out.  You can see the original image on the paper under the raised image.  [clear as mud right?]

Inside is a simple knotted ribbon and rub on hearts.

 I thought it would be either a nice thank you, thinking of you, get well or birthday card.

Halloween Card - Cricut Holiday Cakes Cartridge

Eek!  There's a spider on my nose...

I really like this jack-o-lantern from the Holiday Cakes Cartridge.  So I'm entering this in the Paper Cutz Challenge for this week.

I welded one "face" and one blank together to form a card.  Then I cut out an extra blank for the inside of the cover.  The "spooky" cut made a great hair piece.  The web is a brad, the spider and inside decorations are
rub-ons, and Eek is letter stickers.  I really like the eyelashed googly eyes.  I used Memento Tangerine and Cantaloupe inks to do the shading.

Mini Album - Gatefold Country Home

The house shape is cut from the Heritage cartridge.  I colored it with pencils.  My hands are really shaking now, so the coloring isn't the best.  I also haven't put the mats onto the inside flaps.
