Here's my project: A basket full of sweet treats just because you're so sweet!!
Project Directions:
I used pink glittered paper from DCWV for the basket, handle and the sides. The base of the basket is made from a label on the Preserves cartridge. I made the width an Actual 8.5" and the height an Actual 5.5". I hid the tag hole before cutting out the piece. I scored from the top of the long side to the bottom at 2.5" and 6". So the sides on this box are 2.5" high and the bottom is 3.5" inches across. I also used this for the tag: pink is at 2.25" and white is at 2.0". I used the "Sweet on You" stamp from CardsTV Stamp Set SWEET TALK.
The sides (2) of the box were rectangles from George and Basic Shapes cut at
Actual 4" by 1.5". The short sides were scored at 1/4" each and the bottom was scored at 1/2". I used sticky tape to attach them to the base of the basket. I then glued the 1/2" pink heart ribbon around the four sides of the basket at the bottom.
The handle is made from a border on the Elegant Edges cartridge. I made the length an Actual 7" and the width an Actual 1.75". I also hid the hearts that were in the border. I glued a piece of white lace ribbon and a piece of pink heart ribbon across the handle.
I wanted an Art Deco feel to the design, so I selected a second border from Elegant Edges. I made the length an Actual 5.5" and the width an Actual 1.75". I cut this out of a black gloss patterned card stock (it came from the my stash and I don't know the manufacturer) and attached it to the sides of the basket directly above the pink ribbon.
I made three black polka dotted heart buttons using a button on the Paisley cartridge. I cut out of nine of the shapes at 1.30" high and 1.37" wide. I then glued three of the cut outs on top of each other to make them button thickness. I used DCWV LaCreme matstack for the card stock.
I punched a set of two holes on both the sides of the basket and the ends of the handles. Then I ran ribbon through the button, the side of the basket and the handle to attach the handles to the basket. I used black ribbon and tied it in a knot then glue dotted a white and gold button on the heart. The third button is on top of the basket handle and is attached to a pink petal flower.
I then placed three pink gems on each side to give the basket a little more bling.

ReplyDeleteI love making containers of all kinds . . . anything requiring a bone folder or scoring is right up my alley, and I love this design of yours. I want to also say that I love the name of your blog! Not sure why you named it that, but I'm jealous because it so describes my papercrafting, as my stuff is all clean lines and very linear, but I'm typically surrounded by mess! I have to clean between projects! -Debbie (dbonczek@comcast.net)
ReplyDeleteWow! Love your project! Amazing!
